Shifter Knob
Shifter ****
Does anyone know where they sell nice shifter ***** for 3rd gen Camaro's.
I have an 86IROC with automatic trannie and want to buy a new shifter **** genuine replacement or aftermarket one.
Has anyone ever tried to fit a later style shifter **** like on the 350's auto on an 86. I have heard it is different but can it be made to work?
How much are direct replacemts from GM anyone?
Thanks,
Mike

look on ebay for a nice t shifter . they came in a variety of gm models , cavaliers , grand ams and some others including thirdgen fbods . and can be hade VERY CHEAPLY EITHER either on ebay or at a local junkyard , you can usually just fit them in youre pocket
there is a pin (looks like a staple when you pull it out) in the front of youre shifter . use a pair of needle nose plyers to pull that pin out and youre shifter will pull right off .
the t handles are the best looking ones in thirdgens (in my opinion) and will fit right on youre cars shifter handle .
im assuming you have the ball or square shifter with the button on top instead of on the side like the t-handle shifter **** ?

I have the T-Handle type one but it is not in the best condition and is all over the place I am missing that staple thing you are talking about.
I'll have a look on ebay like you said cause I am in Australia and no junkyards here.
