SGI-5 ??? t-56?

SGI-5 ??? t-56?

do i need any speedometer after market parts if i get a t-56? i have a 1990 camaro, I heard something about electric and manual speedometers, well does the electric one show like a digital screen on the dash with numbers?mine is just an arrow that spins, like a normal one..thanks

ohh ok , thats what i figured but do I need an SGI-5 if I have a 1990 camaro and I want to put a t56 in?

Yes, either that or a Programmable Electronic Speedo, like the one from Autometer for around $200 from Summit. The SGI-5 is $80 from www.DakotaDigital.com . The T56 sends out a much different pulse rate than the T5/700R4 (VSS).

Yes you have to run the SGI-5 with the T-56, with out it not only will the speedo not work right but also the computer will not know what speed you are going and this will mess up a few parameters in it.
