Question Setting Engine Timing Using Inductive Light Question

Hi everyone, quick question I want to adjust the timing on my z28. Engine label says 6 degrees before top dead center (TDC). Ok now my question is does that mean when I look at the numbers it should be lined up with the 0 or it should be lined up with the 6? I am pretty sure its with the 6 but I want to make sure

Re: Setting Engine Timing Using Inductive Light Question

Ok so my timing gun has a degree ****. So I set the degree **** to 6 degrees and fired away and its showing up as being lined up perfectly at the 6 marker. I assume that is the correct way to do it.

if you have the **** on the timing light at 6 drgees, and then marker is at 6, you have 12 degrees of timing, you only need one of them at 6, **** at 6, marker at 0, or the **** at 0 and the marker at 6
