rust on the door seams

i just purchased a vehicle last week and all the seems where the door skins meet on the inside has some rust. anyone have some ideas on the proper steps for doing this? i looked at some chemicals you can put on there to nutrilize the rust. Any body guys have some pointers the car is black and the rest of the body is mint.

sand the rust off, get some primer and then spray bomb it and clear coat it. its only a little spot id do it myself. its on the door seam so noone will notice if it doesnt match perfect. but its black so there wont be any huge differences

Your best bet for a home fix on the seam rust would be to use POR-15. Starter kit is about $20 online and it will stop the rust. Used it on the bottom of my doors 3yrs ago, and it did the job.

If it is surface rust just sand, prime and paint to fix,but if it's comming through from the inside you will need to nutilize the rust on the inside also in order to correct the problem, and after you do this replace the window seals this is where a lot of the problems with door rot comes from the water enters down the window glass, also make sure to clean all drain holes.
