check if your fan is coming on. if not check your fan relays and if all this is working jegs sells a nifty device for 50 bucks a temperature sensor thall kick on at 200 or your choice of 176 degrees personally i went with the 200 degree. try this but make sure the fans are running . running dual fans 24. will burn out your relays.

If you just changed the fans then I bet you have a problem in that area. Maybe you have rewired the fan incorrectly and is pushing air instead of pulling air in.

The fan should be sucking air into the engine bay not blowing it out.

Check it out to start of with, could be an easy fix.

Mine runs hot too I've replaced everything on that damn cooling system, I have all the plastic air dam crap n I had to pull over when I hit 256 on the interstate today, Florida sucks for keeping Camaros cool, and the cheap pep boys water pump probably aint the best choice either, Ill bet its cavitating like crazy, I'll buy an Edelbrock Victor water pump one of these days.

hey for the last guys post if your camaro has that much hp and tourqe and your running stock water pump and radaiator there your problem. you need a highflow water pump and a aluminum radiator that should solve you problems.

225rwhp and 392rwtq naturally aspirated aint enough for me to go buy an aluminum radiator, but I will get a water pump definately - also bought a new air damn cuz mine fell off, which is one reason im having cooling problems, but the air dam is only part of the cause.

You may be surprised how much difference the airdam makes on these cars. Without it, the radiator gets very little airflow at highway speeds.

225 rwhp and 392ft lbs of rear wheel torque naturally aspirated 13.88@97mph
303 rwhp and 518ft lbs of rear wheel torque on 100 n2o 12.88@108mph

You should be running high 13's if you have more power than that

Always make sure tha fan is coming on when it's suposed to, if you have problems with a thermostat or relay, wire it to a manual switch. I did that and love it.I can flip both fans on at idle in 100 degree weather and it'll idle at 160 ALL day in traffic.

Nitromethaneman! Investiage that water pump, maybe it's flowing the wrong way? That Air damn will help a lot, especially on the highway at 40+mph...fans aren't needed over 40mph from what I've seen on my car so I shut them off. If you still overheat on the highway, flush the entire system a few times with an off the shelf product, new hoses are a must, new thermostat, the water pump you mentioned and yer golden. Even a pep boys style radiator would probably be under $200 with a warranty. Goodluck

My radiator is a pep boys one right now, been running it for almost 3 years now, 3-core if I remember correctly.

I installed the air-dam today, weather wasnt as hot as the other day, but I was keeping an eye on the scanner's water temp reading, it never went over 221 and at 50+mph it'd cool right down to 205 degrees.

My fans are wired to come on with the ignition, so they are always-on.

Those temps are about right if you have all the stock cooling control stuff (i.e. fan switch, thermostat, etc.) These cars are made to run REALLY hot for emissions puproses.
