Rough idle, no throttle

I have a 91 Camaro with a 3.1. The car idles very rough, jumping RPMs and then dies. If you push the throttle, the car dies. It won't rev at all. We tested about everything. We switched ECM's switched or replaced all the sensors and even checked voltage readings from the ecm to the sensors. Everything seems fine. Then last night for whatever reason my friend decided to unplug the altenator. The car now idles fine!? Oh, there was also throttle response there but not much. Anyone have any ideas on this?

Take the alternator out and have it tested. Maybe it is lugging down the motor?

It's probably grounding out internally.
