I was just curious if some roller rockers off a chevy 283 would fit on my 305....i think that the valve covers are center bolt....thanks in advance for any help...

 

as long as the stud on both heads is 7/16 (which it should be) than it will work.

If you do have centerbolt valve covers then the rocker body may not clear the webbing in the valve covers. Centerbolt heads usually require narrow body roller rockers.

 

And most times you need a steel guide plate, but it can be done without if you use self guided rockers

 

True....and the odds of rockers on a 283 being self-aligning are pretty slim. If there are guideplates on the 283 be sure to get them too.

Either way, if they won't fit your 305 and you need to sell them cheap....email me.

 

A 283 sounds too old to have centerbolt so it would probably not fit without modifying the VC. I know LPE sells modified VC for using the perimeter bolt VC. So either modify your VC or get the Crane Narrow body RR.
