Most billet cam cores are saved for solid cams. I havent seen too many hydraulic roller cores that were billet. You will be ok with your iron gear.

If you were to need a bronze gear, it would have mentioned it.

What would be wrong with a bronze gear tho? It would sacrifice itself before the cam gear wore. The cam is harder to change than the distributor. Which reminds me that my dist is the original one.

Dont run a bronze gear if you dont have to. It may seem legit (i used to run a bronze gear with my Isky billet S/R). Until the car starts missing and you have to rip the dizzy out, replace that stupid gear, put the dizzy back in, and REset the timing. IT gets annoying. If you feel the urge to run a bronze gear, do yourself a favor. Spend the extra money and get a Comp Polymer gear and never worry about your gear again.

Well, if your cam seems to be chewing up or be chewed up, you might have an issue with the cam but like I said, I am using the stock distributor and an Accel camshaft without any problems yet. Timing a distributor is a lot easier than an R&R on the camshaft.
