Rocker Arms....guideplates or self aligning...
Rocker Arms....guideplates or self aligning...
I've got a bit of a dilemma with my Iroc....
I bought the car with a knock... and I bought an engine at a "divorce sale"...
The car has a set of 1.6 self-aligning crane "gold" rocker arms (3/8" studs) on the knocking engine....
The engine came with *non* self aligning 7/16" stud Comp Cams "pro magnum" 1.6 roller rockers, ARP screw in 7/16" studs, and comp cams guideplates.
Would it be better to run the self-aligning rockers with the smaller studs, or the big ones with guideplates?
I'm running a hydraulic roller cam( not sure which one yet ) and sportsman 2 heads if it makes a difference...

Re: Rocker Arms....guideplates or self aligning...
I'd do the larger stud and guideplates option. Hardened pushrods needed. Sell the gold rockers if they're in good shape. Should be worth $150+ in this F/S Forum
