Rims

I looking to buy an extra set of rims for my slicks. I was wondering if any one knows if rim wieght will affect my e/t all that much. I am thinkin of buying just cheap cragar rims for like $50 instead of spending like $175 for like weld racing rims.

Re: Rims

Wheels, tires & the rest of the suspension that are "outside" of the springs are known as "unsprung weight" which actually affects vehicle performance to a greater degree than "sprung weight".

You can get more info from Tire Rack, and there's another decent-looking article right here (scroll down to 'The Ratio of Sprung to Unsprung Weight').

Bottom line - if you're looking for every last tenth, it's probably worth it to spend the money for the lighter rim/tire combo...
