Removal of Charcoal Canister

I need some step by step instructions or tips on how to remove the charcoal canister from my car. I am dropping the tank to do a fuel pump so i think i can remove the vent lines while I am at it, and advice would be great.
thanks!

Remove the vent lines? What about "vapor lock", a condition of vacuum in the fuel system resulting in fuel flow resistence.
Why remove them? I the cainster is in the way, relocate it...

I'd leave everything where it is. If you want to remove the canister then just remove it and plug up everything it goes to. That is what I did. I also let the tube from the tank come into the engine compartment and vent into the atmosphere.

Yep, just take it out and vent it to atomsphere. You might notice a fuel smell at first. You could smell mine if you were leaning into the engine compartment. But it only did it for a couple months or so. At least I can't smell it now

Why do you want to get rid of it?

There is a long line that seems to come from the back of the car. That is the one you plug off, if you must. I just vent it.
