I'm sure the DS length isn't constant so that would need to be changed but if you can get the right bellhousing, that part should bolt up. Not sure about the kickdown cable and shifter linkage. Why are you going that route when you can rebuild your 700 R4 and have it fit right in?

you need a new crossmember and torque converter. also speedo work might be needed. spohn sells a kit that has everything IIRC

To go to a Turbo 400 you need the tranny, torque convertor, a custom crossmember, driveshaft, new shifter, and then you still have to figure out something to do about the torque arm. You'll probably have to go aftermarket on it which can be VERY pricey.

All in all it's not worth it unless you're building a flat-out drag car and need the trans to be good for 700hp or something.

Yea, so basically a T56/T400 is out of the question...too much custom work for me, too much cost.

I'm satisfied though, I've pretty convinced that a strong 700R4 will be fine.
