Anyone having opions on rear ends for 3 gen 83 z28, I'd like to hear from you. I currently have about 500 hp +/- running into it. My rear end is stock 3.73 posi. I have been told that the c clip rear end can break and cause a big problem. Most people say go right to 9" ford. I like to just for the tub job. Anyone make a factory replacement ford diff for our 3 gen's????

You can get converted 9inches or 12 bolts. They are both over $1500.
I run a 9bolt because it's cheaper.

Then again. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

 

any rear that will mount up in a 4th or 3rd gen will work in your car. so getting a 12 bolt or 9 inch is a couple of options. i just run a 4th gen 10 bolt with a heavy duty posi and its been fine.
