Rear Brake Lights in Spoiler All Out

I've had a light bulb here and there go out, but never the entire row. Is this common? Does it indicate a problem other than bad bulbs? I'm not sure if they went out together or one by one. I never get to see it from the rear because I'm always in the driver's seat.

i had sort of a weird problem
it all had to do with the connections to the lights
the connections were pretty dirty, and the lights didn't make good contact. i bent the light's metal connectors, to make them stick outward (push against the metal)

and it seemed to work, after a few tries

if they all went out.. uhh.. not sure what to tell you
i THINK one bulb would cause the rest of them to go out ie:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (or however many bulbs)

if #2 went out, 1 would work, 3 4 and 5 would go out with #2

despite it looking like the connections were in PARALLEL.. which is just weird

just play with it a bit.. that's how i got it working.

If you installed the Halogen Bulbs with your bare fingers, it will result in early bulb burnout. Common occurance with this type of handling.

I'm still having problems with the rear center brake light. The whole strip is still out and I just replaced every bulb. My hatch pull down is not connected right now. Is the hatch pull down and the center brake wired through together? I'm getting a rebuild kit for my hatch pull down and cannot connect it up until I finish the rebuild. I was wondering if I should be looking somewhere else for my problem.

the third brake light is powered through the outside terminals of the 4 contact thing to the left of the latch, is it still in your car?, try cleaning the contacts, i used a screwdriver on the bodyside and a wire brush on the hatch side
