Post Radiator Need help!

My car is stuck in the mechanic shop and I can't get to it to measure the radiator size. Can some one tell me the size of our radiator. I have a 87 iroc z28 it's the five speed not the auto. I need to order a new radiator and was thinking about going with griffin. Any thoughts? Thanks please respond soon.

Cool

If I rememebr correctly (and I should because I went through this last week), the largest rad is the 26" one. The guy at Part Source said there are 3 different rads the car could have come with and the 26" is the largest. Mine came with plastic tanks. That's what my '84 Z28 has. It's the 305 with the 5 spd. I bought a Modine (part #951). Maybe you can match it up that way.
Hope this helps.

How thick is it? And from other readings that I've been doing people have been putting in 31 X 19 but they said that's over kill and a lot where putting in 27.5 x 19. Does that sound right to you?

Cool

When I did mine, the width of the rad was never an issue. It was the length or if and whether or not the tanks were plastic. If you're getting into aftermarket rads, they're probably made to fit more universally. That might be what's making it more complicated.

Of course, because I'm not going to pay more money for some plastic piece of ****. When for less money I can buy one that will cool the engine down better and wieght less. The one that's in there now is a composite of plastic and metal. One of the plastic side's that is crimpt onto the metal core is leaking big time and there's no way to fix it. So I was wondering if someone could go measure their stock one and tell me the width, depth, and length. And if possible tell me if there is room for bigger in that area. Thanks.

Well, since you called mine a piece of sh*t, maybe you should fend for yourself. By the way, that first piece of sh*t lasted 18 years. Just an FYI.

My piece of #### lasted 15 years and in phoenix,az where it gets to 120 during the summer. I'm suprised it actually lasted that long. Not the point, it still can't be fixed because it's plastic. Plut the aluminum one wieghts less and cools the engine down better. I'm suprised you actually went back to the stock.
