Re: Quick Question

Are you talking about cutting the bottoms off the airbox, or are you making a ramair setup?

Re: Quick Question

IIRC, you just need to remove it from the car & create some holes along the sides... You're not trying for any kind of "tuned" effect, you're just opening it up so that it can "breathe" to it's full extent... Can anyone else here confirm this?

(EDIT: Never mind, I found it:

Modified Air Cleaner Housing-
This entails cutting rectangular "windows" in the sides of the air
cleaner to facilitate better breathing. It made a noticeable difference
in the "butt-dyno" after doing it, especially getting on the uphill
freeway (poor mans' dyno) on-ramp.
Taken from thirdgen.org )

(I actually went right past the airbox mod & created my own cold-air setup...)

Re: Quick Question

i took my air box off, and took a cutoff wheel and cut the whole bottom pieces right off....then i put it back, so now you look down into 2 open squares...it opened everything up real nicely...i'm not sure thats the way you do it, but thats the way I did it...i ordered my K&N's today, they should be here tomorrow....i'll put them in tomorrow and hopefully it'll work out...i don't see why it wouldn't cuz the filters are held in there by the lip around the edges am I right? they don't rest on any of the baffles inside the air box itself do they?
