A guy has offered to sell me a factory aluminum TBI truck intake manifold for $50. My question is this will it help any? Is it worth the $50. I'm not building a hot rod 305 TBI motor just looking to go around 225 HP. will this be a small step to getting me there? Also will my TB fit this manifold. Quick response please.

I wouldnt bother. You can pick up used Edelbrock TBI manifolds for about $125.

 

all of the gm tbi intakes are derived from teh same design. other than casting inconsistances their will be very little to no difference between a factory truck intake and your stock intake. there are a few casting runs that people claim are better than others, but i have never seen anything to prove it.
if you go to your local u-pull-it you can grab another stock intake to play with for about $10. if you gasket match it and throw it on it will be a little help, but to swap on another stock intake woudl be a waste.
