Question for those of you with ram air. . . .

I am wondering who makes this wide to narrow shaped piece that adapts to the intake ?

Also, is there any homemade part that is similar ?

Anyone make their own front mount ram-air in other words ?

That is the stock airbox for a TPI car. You can get them for next to nothing. Derek

Ok what about custom ram air setups on 3rd gens ? Any pics.. ? ?

The reason I ask is that the 3rd gens and LS1 seem to draw their air from the front, and the 4th gen LT1 draws our air from the side, which I don't like.

While I don't have pictures of my old set up and am now running a charger, I used a third gen firebird SLP coldair intake which runs to the passenger side firebird battery tray. What I did was turn the intake ducting upside down so it ran to the driver side of my camaro were there was no battery, and cut a hole in the drivers side battery tray, then plummed it through with a cone style KnN down to a ram air scoop hanging under the front spoiler. It worked VERY well and I would still be using it if not for the upgrade. I personally do not mind poking a hole in the engine compartment of my camaro, but others may not agree with doing the same.
