Question about 85-86 TPI engines

Hi guys,

I noticed that in 85 GM had the LB9 engine rated at 215hp and then in 86 they made a cam adjustment and lowered it to 190hp, is there a reason they did this? Im very curious. Thanks

in 85 it has a bigger cam, ot sure why they went to the smaller cam,
they did change the ECM from 85 to 86 might have had something to do with it

The rumor I heard is the '85 Camaro was too close in power to the '85 Corvette, so in '86, GM handicapped the Camaro with the peanut cam.
