Its a mod that results in more problems then performance gains.
Rethink this one.....

Pulleys make a big difference on the TPI cars. Check out the latest GMHTP magazine. 'Blue Thunder' - the resident 305 TPI project car - picked up a whopping 17HP at the tires with JET power pulleys.

And remember - that was on a 305 car. The L98 would be a few ponies more.

I'd say that makes them a very worthwhile upgrade.

That would have been a concern with me as well, but the author (car owner) said, all he noticed was his headlights dimming slightly at a stoplight with all the HVAC stuff running, but as soon as you start moving away the charging comes right back. I had a '90 5.0 Mustang coupe with March pulleys and it did the same thing, but it was a very small price to pay for the gains.

Also do not belive the Pulley Mfg's Claimed horsepower gains. Just claims and no mention of problems on a street driven car, may be alright on drag strip car.

This wasnt the pulley manufacturer doing the dyno testing, it was the author of the article. Since it was his own car, and it is power at the tires, I think 17HP is damn good for a bolt on part.

I would wait and install the pulleys when the alt goes out. Then install a 140amp alt and then not worry about it.
I don't have the pulleys and I have removed everything from my engine but the alt and power steering. I did add a supercharger tho. I think i would rather have the supercharger tho.J/K
