Projected cost for T56 swap?

I'm planning on getting a 90-92 RS 5 spd in the next few months, and want to install a 6-spd tranny. I know there's a Richmond 6 spd, Borg Warner T56, and the ZF 6 spd. Which would be the best overall 6 spd tranny and what about cost? Any help is appreciated.

get the BW t-56 installed in the 4th gen cars 94-97, average price is 1500. Crossmember is a problem, 4th gen wont work on our cars.. spohn offers one for a great deal $100 (www.spohn.net) he builds good stuff. Make sure you get the hydraulics with the trans, they function differently than the T-5's do. With a decent clutch (McLeod street dual friction is what I used) and a shifter you should be good to go for around 2200.

I had too much fun with the t-56 in my car...good luck and enjoy!

You mean the crossmember? I didn't know SLP made a custom one for T56 swaps in a 3rd Gen. I know Spohn makes one, though.

They did, and it was originally equipped with the 92 SLP firehawk that had the C4 corvette ZF 6-speed. They no longer offer that crossmember. As mentioned above, spohn makes one ideal for your setup for a good price.

All costs included, my T56 swap cost me about $2500! But I went all out and spared no expense.
I got the T56 as a kit with the hydraulics, pedals, used clutch/pressure plate/flywheel, and bolt hardware for $1500, plus about $100 to ship it.
The clutch was a Spec Stage II for about $400.
I went ahead and got an adjustable torque arm from Spohn. It's a $400 piece, but it comes with the crossmember you need for free.
Fourthgen center console, $50
Speed sensor adaptor, $80

I believe ScooginDickie also makes a crossmember for the swap.

Hey, I noticed you live in Lawrence. Do you attend KU? Just thought I'd comment . . .

I did live there, for about five years when I went to KU. I graduated a few months back, and right now I'm in Wichita, although I'm moving out to California next week. I needa update my profile. Are you a member of the Kansas Fbody Assoc? If you're not, you should join up. http://www.ksfba.org
