Project T/A: It started!

Hi. I got my 84 Trans Am to start today after sitting for 7 years! Only to find a crap load of exhaust leaks(rust), the altenator doesnt work, and it smokes profusely(millions of possibilities. Yay for me huh?

if you have time id take it apart to clean the carbon and varnish before you expect it to be a reliable driver. and when its apart you can put exhaust manifolds on it, replace hoses and gaskets

a search may reveal what things you could run into after a car sits.

any pics? was it sitting indoors or out?

I dont have pics up yet but will before I do anything to it. It sat outside for about 4 years, and then the guy moved it inside for the las 2 and a half or so. The CC is clogged and making an awful racket and probably making lots of back-pressure. Im going to throw some cheap headers on it, and a new exhaust system. Replace Some gaskets and hoses. And, I think I'll be good to go. I just hope the rings are good and intact.
