Problem with air filter base not clearing distributor

I use to have a 9" raised base 2" tall filter on my 350. It's running a 670cfm Holley street avenger carb with electric choke. I recently ordered a Jegs 14" dropped base, 3" tall filter for my car. I got it in the mail and I have a problem. When I try to put it on the base hits the distributor cap. I was looking on Jegs site, and I noticed that they have the same arifilter kit, but with an offset base as opposed to a centered base like I ordered. Would that work to help me clear the distributor?

Also, will the airfilter clear an electric choke or not?

Re: Problem with air filter base not clearing distributor

Are you using a standard distributor, or an old large-cap HEI? I have a large cap, and without the offset base my air cleaner just touches the distributor. With the offset, everything is gravy.
