Angry Power steering pump pulley install

I'm installing a new power steering pulley on an 88 tbi motor and I cant get the stupid thing pressed on for nothing! I've got the install tool on there, and it seems like if I turn too much more I'm gonna break the bolt off...and the pulley is only half way on. Anybody know any "tricks" to make this easier? or is it just supposed to suck this bad lol...

I've put one on with a hammer before, but I've been told thats a bad idea.

A guy I work with told me to try putting grease on it first, maybe I'll try that?

is there a key way or notch or something? because if its just a smooth shaft and smooth hole, i would not recommend grease...then it'll slide on there 2 easy...i think its supposed to be a pressed fit...
