port and polish intake

some people i know do p&p work and they are doing my intake, my question is on stock intakes they have a divider between the two injectors inside the intake, if i have them cut that out like i see on some of the aftermarket intakes will it cause any air/fuel problems? TIA

You are going to love the difference this makes. If you port the entire thing correctly, the car will pull much harder in the highend.

yeah it should make a big difference. . . i have helped him do his upper and lower and throttle body on his mustang and its nice. we are also gonna do my heads after i get the porting kit in so it should be sweet. but anyway you dont think itll have an effect on the air/fuel ratio? thats the main thing im worried about cause we are cutting a big hole in the center comparitivly to a normal p&p job.

Nah you should still be ok, my friend did that and his runs STRONG, and it made a great difference in his motor. I think It just flat out runs better in idle and over all performance everywhere.

Yep, the siamesed intake base is a good way to overcome the RPM barrier the TPI system inherently has. Here is a pic of what I did to my plenum and base:

I also have the SLP runners that have been worked over a bit too. I did all of the work with a die grinder and a single carbide burr. Hint: Use liberal amounts of gear lube on the burr
