Plans for next winter buildup
So, as some of you may know, this year proved very fruitless with the mods that I did to the motor last winter. I was running the same times this year as I was last year, I did some tuning and I may have been WAY off but still I think that I should have gained somthing with the ported heads, HSR, and new convertor.
So, heres what is in the plans.
AFR 195 heads.... I want them so bad I can taste them.
AFR Hydrarev kit
Cam to match the afr heads and HSR intake
New ignition system possibly an MSD
New distributor, manufacturer yet to be decided
Other than that, I think thats all I am gonna need besides a new tach... long story.
Whaddya guys think? Mods in sig.

I don't think it will work well for you. Just so you won't get stranded in the middle of the road, let someone else test the combo for you for a few years. I could PM you an address to send the stuff to for trials and this person would give you an opinion in a few years. Because I know this person, there would be no charge.
Umm...
I read the whole post Brad..Sounds good to me! Hopefully the cam maker reccomends something aggressive and not some weak grind. I'd look in the 235-245 range with no less than .600" lift but I'm a tough guy like that
lol Big converter and tires a must
When are you gonna buy traction mods instead of these top end swaps?

afr 195's flow a lot of air and are good for a lot of power. Ive heard of people with the right combo's making over 450 hp with those heads. Be careful of your bottom end it would be a shame to throw a rod and destroy all of those fancy new parts.
The 195 has a 5cc larger port on the intake side and I think the port opening is larger slightly.
As far as NEEDING a 383+ cube motor to take advantage of a 5cc larger intake port...Doesn't that sound a little off?
You can run the 210cc or 227cc heads on a 283 or 302 if you had everything planned out properly

Denny, when I start having problems cutting my normal 1.8's on street tires I'll do traction mods.
I wanna have power like Duke does where I can scare myself with it. Or where I can run 95mph 1/8 passes while babying it.
And I wanna spend $30 doing so!
