Planning for future power.

I've got a 91 Camaro RS, and although I'm probably a long way from the stock engine going out I wanna know what changes/upgrades will NEED to be made to the car when I put a carbed 350 in. My dad used to work on those so that's what I eventually want to get. The engine I want will be in the 330 crank hp range. Any replies would be greatly appreciated since this will determine how I'll manage my money.

Lt-1 conversions are badass , but I have roughly around $3500 in the engine and 4k in the car total .....At the time I just couldn't afford the conversion !

Sorry it took me so long to reply, I can't use the internet at home cuz the antivirus isn't working. Anyway, y'all are suggesting a conversion to a 4th gen motor right? What'll I have to take out to make the conversion work? Other than the stock engine Lol

Ya know... if your going to get a more powerful engine, you need to get a stronger transmission first. Go T56!!!

lt1 and ls1 conversions are nice but also very pricy. if you are looking for a good and easy swap check out sdpc crate motors. i got the 350 ho deluxe and could not be happier. i bought a raptor 700r4 trans with it. i turn a high 12 and low 13's consistently in the quarter. like i said i am very happy.

if i remember correctly the LT1 fits rather nice in the car. gonna have to notch the frame if you want to keep the a/c. if you have a t-5...that wont last too long, with a 700R4 maybe just beef it up a bit. why are you stayin away from a built 350 w/ TPI?

a crate engine might be your answer. however, 330 crank horsepower isn't a whole lot. why not go with a basic power adder you'll be there easily.

good luck with the project!!
