Although obviously I would want to have one with a streetable 10 sec big block in it. But other than state the obvious. I would like to have one with less that 1000 miles maybe a 91-92 L98 convertable with a T-56 swap. To keep stock and just cruise in. Also I wouldnt mind having that 91 Firehawk that that one dude on here has.

my dream 3rd gen would be:

1989 IROC-Z (like new-low miles!)
Black
T-Tops
hooked up LS1(intake, exhaust, ignition, etc.)
beefed up T-56(shift kit, etc.)
17" Crome IROC rims
boom system
crap load of suspension mods and driveline mods to handle the EXTREME power and to provide GREAT traction!
maybe a little 50 shot
...to many other little mods to list, but those would be the major ones!

*this car would also have to have great reliability, durability, and drivability... almost as if it would be my daily driver, although it would more less be my
WEEKEND TOY!

OR

i'd kill to get my hands on:
'88-'89 IROC-Z
305TPI
5 Speed
T-Tops
Red w/ the gold rims
full equiped/optioned out!
BONE STOCK!
like new w/ hardly any miles on it!

OR

BOTH!!! haha

that would be GREAT!

I am building my dream 3rd gen right now. Some of the dream parts aren't here yet, like the LT5, ZF-6, Independent Rear Suspension setup and a few others.

Holy Shyte, and LT5??? Man I have got to see that.... I am in the middle of building my Dream IROC now that I have one finally. My Z still sits all sad and banged up after she was rearended, and I might just restore her to stock appearance, a little more than stock under the hood..... Or I might make it a drag car. I still don't know, but I know for sure, I don't think I could ever part with it.

My dream parts won't be coming for quite a while. I need to find about $30K to get all the parts I want.
Right now my car has an LT1 with cam and the other mods that are in my sig.

1989 TTA...

Perfect 3rd gen is the 1989 Turbo Trans Am. Combining one of the best - if not the best - engines of all time with one of the most aerodynamic packages GM has ever built = the ultimate f-body regardless of year. I know a lot of guys will say 'LS1', but as great an engine as that is, the turbocharged/intercooled Buick V6 has more latent potential in its basic form than just about anything out there.

Just my .02

The LT5 is the quad cam, 32 valve, V8 that was in the ZR1 Corvette. the ZF-6 was the tranny that was mated to it.
I think the T56 wasn't built at the time the ZR1 was being made so they used that Tranny. That is the coolest combo to put into a 3rd gen, not the most cost effective since for $12K or so you only get 405hp, it's just the awe-factor that you get when people see that motor in a car other than a ZR1 Vette.

Man, I love the Turbo T/A's..... Low 13's stock is not bad at all. I am not a fan of our firebird brothers from the 3rd gen, but I would definitely take one of those

Took the words right out of my mouth. Although I might be biased

Put a PT51 turbo, 50# injectors, 3" downpipe into a SLP cat back, 3200 Vigilante, Nitto Drag radials and you got a recipe for low 11's with traction. If I could launch, low 11's are mine

rather than have a heavily modded 3rd gen i would like to have an 89 pace car as Dirt Reynolds said, or id like to have a camaro with the b4c option or even better the 1le option with really low mileage. although i wouldnt mind a z28 heritage edition (black with red stripes) the car would have to be bone stock too! ok, maybe a t56
