Gotta question regarding my cooling system... A shop just installed a new water pump cause my previous one was broken, but now my car is starting to overheat after 10-20 of driving, or 2-5 minutes of idleing... i live in the desert, but its happeneing at night with modest temps... its a 305 tpi, 89 camaro i-r. ?

 

Call the shop and find out if they used the right water pump. There are 2 different kinds of SBC water pump....standard rotation and reverse rotation. Since your car uses a serpentine belt system it needs a reverse rotation pump....if they put the wrong one on it would definitely cause overheating problems.
