opinion on this custom 350?

as posted previously i am looking to drop in a modded 350 into my 87 z28... i went to a local engine rebuild shop and this is how much it is going to cost me.

86 350 4bolt main bored .40 or .60 over (whichever i chose)
port and polish
350 heads
performance cam
performance headers
performance intake
performance carb
10:1 compression
and all the other things you need to complete a motor for around $3800 CDN..

this price isn't exact.. the guy is going to work out some different packages for me with the engine built by them, or just all the parts.. different cams and **** etc.

could i use my transmission? its a 5spd that came with the 1986 305 chev malibu motor thats in my car.

I'll sell you a complete from intake to pan, wiring harness, computer, 350 TPI that is cammed, ported, oversized throttlebody, headers, custom TPIS programming, full aluminum roller rockers, and all accessories needed to make the car run, for the same price. I am in Edmonton, shoot me a message if interested. Very low mileage.

Go with the .040 one. Don't go by "performance cam" "Performance heads" Find out things like cam specs and head flow numbers. Then post them here and we tell you what you can expect.

Thats what I'm saying.

I am gonna build one up for a price of 3-4K max, approx 350-375 hp. I really am not going for that much speed. I like a good "fast" car but at the same time, an eye catcher. Theres nothing I can do to compete with the new muscle, I just want something respectable that will give people a run for their money. I plan on also repainting and adding a black interior that I came into.

Guys with 305-350 swaps...... How was it? I need to keep it legal. Can it be done fairly easily?

Thanks

WIll
