Nothing like it..
Nothing like it..
I am going to like FORD, if i dont get answers, i was told at another board that i could swap a 1971 chevy 350 with a 1983 camaro 305.. well its all good but the oil dipstick is on the driver side of the block and the exhaust manifold wont go together, while trying to remove the dipstick, it snapped off inside the hole, ****! and i am so stuck....
Re: Nothing like it..
Your exhaust manifolds won't work with the driver's side dipstick that comes out the top edge of the block. Not even close. It'll come out right smack into the back of the manifold's down-tube to the y-pipe. Been there, done that.
My solution was some cheap shorty headers, but I wanted headers on the motor to begin with anyway.
Another solution might be to contact Lokar (the custom cable people) and buy a flexible dipstick cable setup that can snake around the stock exhaust manifolds.
Getting the old snapped off tube out will take some doing, but you'll get it. Exhaust manifold's gotta come off, for sure to get access to it. Use an easy out to get it turning, grab with some vice grips and pull. They're just pressed in and held in place by a friction fit (going in maybe an inch or so inside the block), and they can be difficult sometimes, I know.

Re: Nothing like it..
try using a punch and knock it into the oil pan. sounds insane but it wont hurt anything.
after that, maybe u could use a flexible magnet to get it out through the oil drain plug hole. not sure if thats do able b/c im really tired and its 12:30AM,but its worth a try.
