I have a '90 IROC-Z 5.7 and the damn thing will not start. its been of the street for about six months and I would start it every week but I didn't start it for three or so weeks and now it doesn't start at all. I don't think its anything to do with the ignition cause it tries to start. I don't think its getting any fuel. you know when you put the key in and put it into the on position and it makes that mmmmmmmmm-click sound, its not doing that soo there might be a ploblem there. your advice is greatly appriciated.

Have a friend come over and listen under the tail end of your car when you turn your key on. That mmmmmm-click is your fuel pump basically priming the fuel rails, the click is the relay under your hood right next to your brake booster turning off the fuel pump. Once oil pressure is built up (normally from cranking the engine) the pump comes back on. If you don't hear anything from under the rear of the car check your relay first, (look in a chilton manual) if that is fine it is probably your fuel pump. Hopefully it is your relay, much cheaper and a ton easier to fix. Good luck Tony

i just had the same problem, and it turned out to be my wireing was shot.. will it never start or once and a while will it? if so check the connections.. (its cheap too)
