Noisy PCV?

Noisy PCV?
Alllright, I've got an '86 Camaro with a 350 in it. My problem is, the PCV is VERY noisy. First I didn't know what was causing the noise. It sounded like what a rocker would sonud like if it hit the valve cover and I checked that and that wasn't it. I checked a feww other things, and then finally realized that it was the PCV by pulling it off and noticing the sound went away and then came bakc when I put it in.
My question is, are all PCV's this noisy? Does mine need to be replaced?
Thanks.

Re: Noisy PCV?
Put a vacuum guage on it and make sure you have steady vacuum readings. If that checks out okay, then examine the hose connections at both ends. I had a pcv on a Dodge making a bunch of noise and it turned out to be a loose connection at the carburetor causing the valve to open and close quickly and rattle.

Re: Noisy PCV?
Let me guess.... it rattles at idle, right? Almost like a "buzzing" kinda noise?
If so, that's a very common problem. If a fresh valve of the same type doesn't solve your problem then use one for this application: 1991 Camro with 3.1L V6 engine.
I don't know what specifically is different about it but I have used it MANY MANY times to solve "rattling" PCV valve problems. It works pretty much like magic. Don't worry that it's designed for a V6, it works just great on every V8 application I've ever used it on, too.
