No real choice when it comes to lowering springs

I can't really make up my mind on this matter.

1. Eibach Pro Kit -- Doesn't even really look like you lowered the car..sometimes even raises the car due to sagging 11 year old stock springs. Ride quality is harsh - supposedly 'performance firm'.

2. Eibach Sportlines -- Very low drop. I really don't know if my ground effects are going to make it. Maybe they will, but the air dam that sticks out like a tongue behind the front valence certainly won't. Ride quality is softer than Pro Kit. Fron't appears to be lower than the rears after the spring install.

3. Intrax -- basically the same as the Sportlines in appearance and softness. Cheaper though at $189 from summit.

4. DropZones -- heard lots of horror stories about poor quality (will start sagging soon) and spring binding during installation that causes the front to be higher than the rear. The cheapest of them all at $99 from ebay. I also like the appearance - 1.5 inch drop which looks good. Somewhere between the Pro Kit and Sportlines. Front and rear appear to have the same distance from tire to fender unlike Sportlines or Intrax that have the rears higher than the fronts.

5. Suspension Technique -- haven't heard a lot about them except about a 1" drop. Firmness, installation, quality and stance is still an issue.

6. Hotchkis -- I have yet to find someone with these springs.

The obvious choice for struts and shocks are the KYB's -- those are a no brainer.

Spring selection is much more difficult. Thanks for the help and recommendations.

How much did the Hotchkis lower the car? Any pictures?

Well...I have the ProKit in my car. I think I am kind of a special case though, so-to-speak.

The springs are obviously made for a stock 3rd Gen car. Well I no longer have cast iron heads, A/C, any emmissions equipment, cast iron manifolds, etc, etc. So I installed the springs and the car sat like it was stock or higher in the front. The rears weren't bad, but the fronts were way high.

So...needless to say I had to act like a red neck and bust out the torch and heat up the springs. So I'm in the market for some new springs. I'm thinking Sportlines...but not sure. I want it to be stiff, but not solid-stiff and I want it to look good.

What about Jamex? I didn't see them on your list. Supposedly they work well. I don't have any experience with anyone else besides Eibach...

It's too bad that Jamex doesn't sell their stuff here anymore. I've got their lowering springs in my IROC and I love them. They lowered the car a fair amount, and although the ride is firm, it's not harsh. My car handles amazingly well, and even after 3 years, there has been minimal settling, and the car still has great handling characteristics.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you.
As far as how much the springs lower my car, it's hard to say because the stock springs were getting old and soft. I can say that I can stick 1 1/2 fingers between the fender lip and the top of the tire on the front and 3 fingers on the back.

Here are 2 pics.
You might have to copy and past, webshots is flaky.

is it possible to get a "factory" replacement IROC suspension from GM....does anyone make a package equal to the iroc suspension, meaning the stiff front suspension that doesn't give much
