i just drove an 88 Gta with the 5.7 and it was doggy as can be. no torque, could barely spin the tires, just no get up and go in general. the odd thing is that it wasnt throwing any codes, engine wasnt making any odd sounds. and the car only has 54k on it. the price is good on this car and id like to buy it but something is definetly up. i know this isnt alot of info but anyone have suggestions?

yeah, theres something wrong. Cause the L98 should spit out more torque than you know what to do with.
I would say if the price is right grab it and start trouble shooting till you figure out what it is. Most likely plugs wires, cap, and rotor will take car of it.

Also check the catalytic coverter. It may be clogged. Maybe tap it with a stick and listen for anything rattling around. Or you could drive it at night and warm it up and check to see if its glowing. My friends was clogged and he lost all his power. He put a new one in and he was good to go.
