no acceleration?????
hi everone
i am new to this but i got a ? i got a 82 z28 tpi 350 5.7 auto It has fresh gas, a new MAF, a new ignition coil change the plug wires, spark plugs, cap, and roter. and it still has no power and no acceleration would it be cad convetor? mine sounds like its clogged up.and there is no acceleration when you push on the gas. I get past first gear but it takes some time to get there and the pedal is all the way on the floor. Any suggestions? plz help

did you change the fuel pump when you put the tpi into that '82? i would check the fuel pressure as well. since it is tpi you need the proper pump to pump the fuel.....you can't use the factory carb one or a tbi pump. they don't put out enough pressure.
Yeh, the TBi pump puts out 14psi, the TPi pump 43psi, big difference.
You'll also need a fuel return line for EFi so it'd be easier to swap a later model gas tank and lines in.
A bad convertor will bog down worse as it runs, and can glow bright red at night. A vacuum gage reading that falls steadily usually indicates a bad convertor.
