Better watch driving without the proper TV cable adjustment! It will toast the trans in time. 700's rely heavily on the TV cable....

Denny, it sounds as if it is computer related. Although, I have to think, it seems that when you say "the more I drive it, the lower the shift point is" I.E. starts at 3000 then 2500 etc. It sounds like it could be related to the tranny temp. Things expanding, shift points get lower in the RPM band... I dunno...sounds kinda strange to me. I am having my own problems right now, though. I believe when I am done, I will be able to diagnose EVERY problem with these cars. Haha! It seems I run into everything you could think of with this dang car.

Keep us posted man, your shifting problem is akin to what I am experiencing now. (Can't get the car to shift under 6000 from 1st gear.)

Sell the kit!?! It's a typical LT1 kit fellas, go get a new one!! Or just get a used one with all of the extra toys on it used. And if yer really serious, get one of the upgraded kits that spray a double stage(300+)

Mike, i know for sure that you can toast the trans somehow and from what I've read i think it's adjusted right but i'm not 100% sure...still shifts nice just at 3K...

cool denny.

about the tranny shifting, its ALL hydraulic operation. the only thing the ecm is going for the trans is telling it to lockup the conv. at a certain point. the tv cable is your culprit for the shifting prob.s I have the same problems but only in the 2-3 shift. I bought a lever that bolts onto the holley throttle lever to adapt the 700r4 to the holley carb. its only $20 and helped alot. If you want, I will let you borrow it to try and see if it helps you. Its really simple to install. too bad I didnt know you were buying a carb. cause I couldhave sold you my 600 for $120. its pract. brand new. (man. choke though) I have an edelbrock proflow aircleaner and torkerII intake that clears the hood w/about 1" or so. its no good at the track cause it limits the air comeing in a little, but is fine for the street. I gained .10-.15 or so by removing it. a guy at my shop is installing a carb.d small block in a car for a friend and he showed me his air cleaner setup and Im going to try it on my car to see how it fits when I get the eng./tranny back in. (I ended up buying the compl. trans. from my friend BTW) should be done maye next week. still have to port and reassemble my new TFS heads.
email me if you want to stop by and see if this lever helps.
