New times but, E.T.-M.P.H. off, what do you guys think?
Noone responded in Drag Racing mabye i'll have better luck in here
Best before: 6.85@101.xx, 1.50 60ft., this is leaving with the juice on (trottle switch), 38 deg total timing
Best now: 6.81@104.45, 1.58 60ft., this is leaving on the motor and hitting it when I felt it hook, and 32 deg total timing
I went up +75hp on the juice
1.58 is a good MOTOR 60ft ,which is probibly where I hit it, and in testing this motor wont fall out of a tree with less than 36-40 deg total timing, I took out 6 deg because of the extra juice but with 112 oct. I think I can bump it back up to 38deg. On the motor with the timing at 38 deg it pulls all the way, but at 32 deg it seems to lag, when it ran 6.81 it also lagged w/32 deg.
Also I am going to try it right off the line. I have a friend whos dads Demon runs 6.20's at 103-104. With the timing and leaving with the juice on do you think I can run at least 6.50's?
Thanks guys ANY help is appreciated.

Dang, that's awesome, What do you think you would run in the 1/4's? Is there anywhere that I could see a bunch of pictures?..
I am building a 406 also.. Was going to build a 427 but can't with the block so I am having to save all the parts that I already bought and am waiting to get 2g's for a Dart Little M block. But in the Meantime, I have the 400 block just sitting there, it's a 509 block with 2 bolt mains, I am going to move up to mildon 4 bolt splayed, Do some coolant passages mods and stuff but over all I think it should be a stout lil motor, but would like to know all of what you are working with and have done.. IF you care to tell..
Thanks
Kevin

Very nice numbers
Sounds like it leaves pretty hard too!
I say leave the timing where it was running best with the smaller shot or possibly work your way back up from 32 Degrees until you find the best MPH?
I recently did a 150 shot with an NX kit on my 305 and took 7 degrees out of the base timing..I went from 8 to 1 degree thinking it would be safe AND make more power...WRONG I bumped it back to 6-7 degrees and the power is incredible...It went 3 tenths slower than a 100 shot when I pulled that timing out
Now with the timing back to normal an the extra 50HP, it's probably a 12.60-12.70 car. Now I know why Nitrous Express says "NO TIMING RETARD IS NEEDED" unless you run an insane dose
Goodluck! Pictures would be sweet too!

I knew the E.T. would be off because of the timing and hitting it later, I was just wondering if 6.50's was out of my reach or what.
Also I forgot my slicks are shot, I'm ordering a set this week. I went to the track yesterday with bumped up timing and ran 7.03@102.xx with a 1.68 60ft, I had to back out of it 3 times because it kept blowing the tires off.
The plugs look excelent, no splatter, all electrode edges are straight and show no signs of rounding off, color was light brown-black, seemed to be burning really clean.
I ordered a A/F ratio gauge from Doug Herbert Aug 31 and as of friday they still dont have it, I will probibly get one from Jegs when I order my slicks.
Kevin,
I am using a stock 400 (.030 over) with 2 bolt mains and I shift at 7000 rpm with out any problems
I got a rotating assy. from Herberts with Scat 4340 crank Scat 4340 H-beam rods with cap screws, and JE/SRP flattops for 10-10.5 comp Advertised 10.5 with 0 deck height which I dont have.
Comp Cams solid roller .630 .282/.292 adv. dur
Dart Pro-1 230cc
Edelbrock Super Victor
Holley HP 950cfm dbl pumper
TH350 w/2.75 1st gear
Mosier 9in. w/3.73 and a mini spool
Car weighs between 3580 and 3680 w/driver
Good luck with your ROC, I like to see fast 3rd gens, Sunday when I went to the track I was the only 3rd gen, at the most there are only 5 at one time, I like being the "under dog" since everyone around here usually has mustangs
