new member, got some questions about my car?

hey everyone
ive got a 1991 camaro rs with edelbrock headers,hi flo catalytic converter, borla 3in exhaust system, dual ram air, gearing change in the diff, and a short shift kit is on the way.
my questions are is a cutout a good idea "id like to get my car alot louder at the push of a switch"and will it give me any more horsepower.id prefere a electronic one but i know nothing about these things so i dont know which is best?and how much would it cost to get welded or put on?

and my next question is would anyone know how much a nice high quality paint job would be,"like have all the old paint removed and totally new paint ,primer, clearcoat put on?
and if it matters my camaro is a metalic blue.

and is nitrous a bad idea for my 305 or will it be as cool and fun as on the fast and furious?and how much would it cost to put a decent nos system on my car installation and all??

You better watch out for the flames when talking about "nawzz" and "fast and furious" around here. Just a heads up.

As for the cutout, basically, your Borla can do that already with a different plate. But if you do go cutout, just know it is VERY VERY loud. It rattled the change in my car on my Z28 and was overall just a pain.
Paint job- 1000-2000$ for a good one.

Lastly, nitrous would be alright but just don't spray too much. I'd rather spend the money on a permenant gain, like 1.6 rockers or something. Nitrous is only good for a moment. Jmho though.

Good luck and welcome to the site.

The guy who makes DMH elec. cutouts lives close to me. Seems like they're a quality piece. I think he sells exclusively through www.summitracing.com .
I don't believe they are illegal but it all depends on your city/county/state laws.
You'd have to ask someone about nitrous on the nitrous forum as to which shot would be your best bet. My *guess* is 75-100 max.

Which plate do you have on the borla system? If you have the open plate installed, you won't gain much in the way of sound or power by spending money on a cutout.

Nitrous isn't bad for the engine, as long as you set it up and use it correctly. Speak to guys who have run nitrous on similar setups as yours before you decide what kit to go with and how to set it up.

Re: new member, got some questions about my car?

I wouldn't recommend a cut out with mods that have done to the exhaust already. You won't see any gains out of it and it may not want to run right. These engines need a little exhaust back pressure to run correctly. We aren't talking about an IMCA modified motor. There is a big difference. As for nitrous. Be careful!!!! I wouldn't recommend very much. I am like the other guys, I would spend my money on something that has a constant gain and is much less harsh on your motor
