Post New guy.... got some questions...

Hey, I'm Tony. I've got an '83 mustang 5.0 that I love to death.... But its past owners abused it to hell and I cant afford to keep it running anymore.

I'm seriously considering getting a camaro... I'll always be a 5.0 fan, but for now I want a quick car that wont break down on me every week... And I love camaros

But what camaro should I get? I'd prefer a 5spd w/ a 350... but from what I'm told none were made like that. My budget is also >$4000

How is the aftermarket? I know mustangs have the biggest performance part aftermarket... But how does the chevy aftermarket compare?

Oh yeah... This is kinda a stupid question but what the hell... A few days ago I saw a pre '93 camaro with what looked like vette tailights. Does someone offer a kit for that conversion, or was it custom made? It looked so sweet.

Thanks a lot

-Tony

There are tons of aftermarket parts available for these cars. The hardest part is deciding which ones.

These are the taillights you are refering to:

Personally, I don't like them at all, but opinions are like A$$holes, everybody has one and nobody wants to hear it. I have seen several camaros w/ these kits, so I assume somebody is manufacturing these.

arizona speed and marine also makes some good stuff. You can find a nice 3rd gen for 4k im not to sure it will be very dependable but they are great cars. Mustang 5.0L are cheap and easy to fix, i love my camaros man but if your looking for something cheap and dependable then go buy a honda not a 3rd gen. There are ALOT of aftermarket parts for these cars. Maybe just as much as mustangs but they are ALOT more expensive and alittle harder to find. You just have to know where to look to find the right parts. If you have any questions about these cars send me an e-mail or just post. There are alot of informative people here. Later

BTW: they didnt mass produce the 350/5speed. In fact i have always beleived they never made them till i moved to Chicago. There is a guy that has a 90 iroc black 350/5 speed with 5400miles on the car. He said it came from the factory like that but was an odd ball kind of car. He bought it brand new also. Had the sticker and everything that is the only reason i beleived him that it was a 350/5speed. Other wise the 350 (l98) came with automatices. The 305's had the option to come with a t5 or the automatic 700r4.
