New Engine: Advice needed
L98
Voretec Heads
SDPC TPI Intake
LT4 Hotcam?
Would that be the best cam for my motor? It'll be my daily driver so I have to worry about gas mileage some. Should I also consider a 52mm TB? I've heard you don't need it until you have a lot of mods. If I got the LT4 Hotcam, should I just get the whole kit (like from scoggin-dickey)? That way I would get the rockers and stuff too. Anything else I'm missing? My goal is low 13's. Think I could get it? All input appreciated. Thanks guys

Of course, you will need a chip burned for that combo. A 92-era FI system is speed-density type that doesn't take kindly to massive changes in the engine's basic breathing characteristics (cam and heads, primarily).
If Scoggin Dickey sells a complete kit that comes with a chip designed specifically for running that combo it might be a good way to go. Getting a dyno-tuned chip on your own is not cheap. Getting a chip that is basically someone's "guess" and what you motor will need is very hit-and-miss.
52mm TB seems to show some decent gains on any car running 13s or faster, in general. And I think it might be worth the cost if you have to buy one anyway. If you already have a 48mm stock unit it might not give the bang-for-the-buck you would want.
Not sure what sized injectors you plan on using but I would think something in the 24-28lb range would work well and give you plenty of "headroom" left for some additional mods later. Of course knowing what injectors you will be using is a CRITICAL piece of information for the programming put in the chip to run the whole combo.
Remember that correct tuning (the chip programming in the case of FI) is AT LEAST AS IMPORTANT to making power as selecting well matched components in the first place. The boards here are packed with stories of guys putting together good combos but not making the power they expected unti after they got a real sharp tune in the chip (like 30-40HP or more in some cases).
