Question New chip, where's my timing at?

Hey everyone, I'm now using a Jet Stage Two chip in my 305tbi. I originally had the timing set to 6 degrees advanced, Im just wondering if this chip bumped it up even more and if so, should I knock the timing back down a notch or two? My mods are, bored 30 over, 9:5:1 compression, Jet Chip, LT1 cam, 3inch magnaflow exhaust, dual snorkel and 3.73 gears. It seems like i can here a knocking noise only when the car is cold, but i know I have a valve that is loose so i think that might be the clicking noise because it goes away after 5 minutes of driving.

When I had my 305 TBI and a Hypertech chip I couldn't run more than 3 degrees advanced or it would ping when cold no matter what gas was used, back the timing back to the stock 0 deg. and drive it, if the noise goes away you have found your problem, then advance it 2 deg. at a time till the noise comes back then back it off a little.
