New Brakes

Getting new brakes on the birdee.

Any suggestions? I'm eating through "stock" quality pads like a fat man through chocolate chip cookies.

Some people suggested slotted rotors and ceramic pads... any of you experts have thoughts on that?

Can someone link me to good-priced rotors/pads/brake lines? I've seen many people with earl's brake line kit... is it worth what it costs?

The car's FUBARed right now, so there's no real time crunch. I'd like to save up and do it right.

I run Brembo OEM rotors and Hawk pads (try the Hawk HPS on the street).

Thanks much! Very informative article. Your link www.carbotech-eng.com doesn't seem to be working for me however.

How much did your brembo rotors and hawk pads cost (just for the front, I'm ignoring my rear drums unless someone feels I shouldn't)?

I had ordered a set of GT Rotors that were ball milled and they have held up pretty well. I also use Performance Friction brake pads with -Z compound.

Sorry, try this (I think they changed the link).

I have a 4th gen so my prices may not work too well for you. I bought them from www.tirerack.com or try www.stranoparts.com.
