new alternator?

ever since i installed the new stereo system (2 new amps and 2 subs) i've been having power trouble. Recently i got a new battery but i still have this problem. I don't know really how to explain it... but i can describe a couple situations where i had trouble and hopefuly from these you can advise me on what to fix...

1) after i let the car sit for a while (before the new battery... a while meant overnight while after the new battery a while means about 4 days) i go to turn it on and all i hear are little clicks... it doesn't start, my headlights work, the battery gauge reads empty.

2) I get my car to start but when i give the stereo system power i only get sound from the subwoofers... the four other speakers don't put out anything because their amplifier did not turn on.

... My dad thinks i might need a new alternator, i just wanted to check with you guys and see what you think. thanks in advance.

Do you have an alarm in the car? Because it sounds like there's something putting a slow but constant drain on the battery even when the car isn't running. A battery shouldn't die after sitting for 4 days even if the alternator IS shot.

Definitely sounds like you have a lack of charging though. I'd recommend a 140amp alternator since you're running more than 1 amplifier.
