Need VATS help!!

I am replacing the steering column in a 1992 Firebird because someone tried to steal the car by beating the ignition out with a screwdriver. Is there anything I'll have to do to get the VATS off?

Measure the resistence of the fatory Key, buy that value resistor at Radio Shack and solder it between the two wires...done..Use whatever column you want then..

OR, you can go to the dealership or www.GMpartsdirect.com and get a key cyl for around $26. they give you a brass blank to cut your new key with. give them your old key so they can give you the right key code (15 diff key codes) and your set. just crack open the steering , and pop it in and yes its pretty much that easy.
being you will have the steering already loose just run the vats wires down and you will see this plastic shield . it slides down. open it and put the vats wires in , mount the steering, plug the vats wires up and you should be set. i did mine very similar to this.
trust me, do it the right way and you will have less question about the security of your car.
