When you rebuilt the motor what did you put into it?

I would do the cam and port the heads if its not done already. Depending on the cam, I would look at getting some 1.6 roller rockers.

There has been cases were the cam is too big and ends up robbing the motor of its power.

Exactly what has been done to the motor? Do you have an number(hp/tq) after the rebuild?

There are a number of things you could look into. Headers, 1.6 RR, gutting the cats, gears, bigger converter. It all depends on what you want to do and how much money you have.

Hope that helps!

Hey Craz ... When you put the headers on did you have to burn a new chip . Reason I'm asking is because I have a '92 350 TPI auto and I'm looking to make some small changes ... AJ

Do you have to? Absolutely not. Will your gains be more significant if you do? More than likely. Bone stock cars will benefit from a chip change. Your best bet is to have somebody sit down and scan engine data, and have your chip burned from there, and even better if done on a dyno. "off the shelf" chips are marginal, if any benefit at all. However, I have heard good things about some of the top end chip burners like Ed Wright, but no personal experience to go by. HTH

well, im not sure if urs if carbed or F.I., but im sure its F.I. but if its carbed.. look into that edelbrock package *that intake, heads, ect, that givews u like 400 hp* but if it is F.I. just get some new heads. Im not sure how much u want to spend... but A.F.R. 190 or 195s would be good. but $1300. or u can go with the twisted wedge heads.. they are cheaper *sorry, i dont know the price* a good lace to look for TPI stuff is TPIS.com granted they are $$ but u will get an idea of what to look for. but for what ever its worth.. my 406 is/was built by 95% of the stuff from TPIS. now if i would just get the 30# SVO injectors id be more around 440-450 rwhp and possibly above 500 rwtq *granted ill have to get another chip burned, but oh well* and the motor runs hell-a clean and gets 18-20 mpg!!
