Need Help,Washed my 5.7 liter and now,

My idel and rpm are all over the place.i checked the ignition control module, check out ok the cap and rotor it looks fine ,no cracks a little carbon tracking though. My plug wires are a bit to long and bound up close to each other. Could it be crossfiring?
One the vacum siloniods on ther right front side of the motor keeps clicking.
Any help would be aprriciated.
Thanks for your time.

Make sure you're not arcing your plug wires. If you got holes in the insulation you could be having an issue.

Check for a vacuum leak

Check your O2 sensor(s)

I assume this is a 5.7L TPI car?

WD 40 will displace the water and can be sprayed on just about anything in the engine bay, including inside of the dist. cap. Or you could just let it dry out.

Yeah I know, its a lame setup.I traded my Honda 1974 CB550 ratbike,(kind of wish I kept my bike chicks dug it) for the car,it has 54,000 miles on the engine and a new 700r4 4spd just serviced last week they put in a new gov it was not kicking down like it should,it really made a bid dif..with many other new parts through out the car.
my plan is to turn the car and get what I wont.
I just need to get the thing running like it was before i washed the engine, you know I knew better than to sray off my engine,Its a case of asphalt,My own dumb asses fault,LOL.
Thanks for your time folks.

Was the engine hot when you sprayed it? That could possibly cause warpage. I think the most likely cause is the ignition system though.
