Need help/opinions..car is running EXTREMELY rich!

First off I just installed a Minirammed 383. All the details of the motor are below. Since we first started it up it has been rich. Which we expected. But now that I have played with the tune, just a little now mind you, it is still rich. And when I say rich I mean burn the eyes out of your head rich. How should I correct this problem, keeping in mind I do not have access to a custom burner for my chip or a dyno. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

You need to adjust the chip. The 24lb injectors along with the cam and intake are making problems for the stock chip.

You need to log some data at idle for the blm's. I have a similar set-up and can get you closer on the .bin if you have some scanner data to make changes with.

Without seeing what the computer/ecm is seeing, you are in the dark.

Well I have a TPiS chip, and it is "supposed" to be programmed for the hotcam etc.

Go to www.fasterproms.com and they will take your specs over the fone. Have them lend you their Diacom system and they can fine tune the chip so that it is truely custom to your setup and not an off the shelf. Used them and had good luck with them over the years. $350 for the first burn and $150 for burns in the future. A burn is considered complete after all the tweakings are done and that is when you are charged,

Word is that Ol Myron Cottrel is not the best person to get help from if there is a problem. Besides, each car is different so how did he happen to know what would happen with your car? Or did he just make a chip for cars with those mods, in general? I wouldn't trust any chip that wasn't made custom for that car because they might pull out a whole bunch of power just to make sure you don't blow it up and blame them. Either dyno tune it or take readings and make sure it works but this "one size fits all bothers me.

Do not buy an over the counter non custom chip... ever.

I've been tuning for quite some time now. I'd like to think that what I have invested far outweighs paying for a custom chip. I have learned lots of things about the motor just from tuning.

Bottom line, get a custom one done. End of story. You can't adjust anything on the motor to make it run correctly on a stock chip with your combo.

Turn your fuel pressure down and try again.

No no... if he turns the fuel pressure down its gonna effect adversely the wide open throttle fueling. He may pop a hole in a piston if he runs it too lean. He's gonna have to crank it down about 4psi which is about 10% less fuel at WOT. Dunno about you but running a 383 with big heads and running 10% less fuel than a stock chip at wide open throttle isn't somthing that I want to experiment with a $4000 motor. Hell he may be running 14:1 AFR at Wide open... thats scarey to say the least.

Be very careful not to run it too much without a better tune cause you wash the rings and not set the rings properly. I have a good friend who recently has gone through this.
