I was told my car should run in the 13's as my 1/4 mph is a decent 97mph. Is't that a high 13sec pass? I'm assuming that my 60' and RT are to blame. 60' 2.165 and RT .806. I know these are the culprats of my 14.430 1/4 mile runs. Any tips guys. I'm just going to keep working on my RT's and 60' Wheres the best firs place to start on traction issues? I was thinking LCA's and relocating brackets. Also, i'm launching at around 1800rps with a 5spd.

my buddy has a 88 iroc 305 5spd with a couple of boltons (exh, headers, intake) and he ran a 14.4 at 100 but his 60" was like 2.25. I think he is easily in the high 13's if he can get his 60 ft down to 1.9... we'll see
Listen When u are launching ur car bring ur self to almost ur stall speed when u come out of the hole just let off the brake and when u feel the car lean back crack it open. U Probably won't get better then a 2.1 60' but it will help u down the track as well.

How do you tell when you are almost to your stall speed? Right before the rear tires start to spin? This is with an automatic tranny right?
My bad. Yea thats sort off right with the automatic with the stall speed. Sorry ok with a stick u wanna kinda ride it out nice and easy as u would on the street in normal driving. For best results use slicks lol but buy good tires and just heat them up a little and the big thing is just be relaxed.

When I ran my TPI305 87' Iroc BONE STOCK with an A4 I put down like, 2.2 60' times, I only did 3 runs, I had never run a track before, I was only reving to like 1500 before launch and I know for a fact my launches were not perfect, I'd think you could hit 1.9 60' times if you launch VERY well.....once you get the launch down you have nothing to blame but the motor....(or the tire traction)

I can't remember what my first 60' times were like but last season they were pretty consistant at 1.9. I was running 14.53-.57 all day long with MPH @ 94ish. Some minor fluctuation but fairley consistant. I could get any faster no matter what I tried.
BTW... this is all with stock suspention. Only lowered by cutting the coils.
Tires definatly make a wolrd of differance. Get something really sticky. Even if there not slicks it still helps.
Also let out some air. Take out about 10 psi to start and a coupe more each pass to see how the track / tires react.
With these two together, I improved my 60' by about one to two tenths and improved my 1/4 ET by about two to three tenths. I know that sounds a little far fetched but it worked like a charm for me!!

I Can't understand how u people pulled 1.9 60' and only ran 14.5 I had a 95 TA with Drag suspension and slicks and ran 1.8 60' at 12.7 and on radials 2.058 at 13.0 so most 14 sec runs usually are around 2.2 unless u have big gears which will help the et to so when people are looking for help don't bs on here.
I think tires is where you should start at. Get some BFG Drag Radials ina 255 or some 26x11.5 ET streets if you have another set of rims to spare.
If you can drive it and launch it at 4000rpm and higher i think you can pull off a high 13 second pass. My buddy went 14.0 at 94mph on a 1.99 60 in a 89 IROC 305 5spd. with a few minor bolt ons.
