Exclamation need cam help

I'm trying to pick a cam to use with my setup. My friend says that I should pick one myself without posting on here to get opinons, but i like to hear what other people say. Two heads are better than one.

I need to retain streetability. I'm just learning to burn proms. I can do some of the basic things but am learning more every day. And it has to be flat tappet, hydrualic. Ok, I think that'll do it. Here's my current setup:
355, World Sportsman II heads (64cc, 200cc intake runners, 2.02 1.6 valves, angle plugs) about 10:1, SuperRam base, plenum and runners, 58mm throttle body, Holley AFPR, 30 lbs injectors, 255lph fuel pump, Hooker 1 5/8 headers, custom y-pipe, hooker cat-back, 700r4 with 2200 - 2400 stall, and 3.73's.

I think that should about cover the details of the motor. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated, mainly because i don't know what to do for cam, if i was roller i'd go with LPE 219, but I don't have that kind of money at this time. Thanks!

As far as manufactuer we could argue all day long. You have 200cc heads that flow well from .400 in through .600 in, so it would be good to get a cam that spends a decent amount of time in that lift range. Unfortunantly flat tappet hydraulics don't offer the same amount of lift as the rollers and take longer in the cycle to achieve the lift they do offer.

For streetability you probably want at least 112 deg lobe seperation or higher for vacuum purposes. With a 112 deg lobe seperation and that compression ratio you can afford to go with durations in the 224 at .050 or higher range for roller cams.

That's just my opinion so take it with a granual of salt.

Those are definately big heads for a 355. Not too big but you will want to spin the engine a little faster than you are probably thinking..

Comp Cams can find you something that will work nice!!

Off the top of my head, everyone thinks the "Extreme Energy" line of cams are all roller and I believe they can be had in a Fla Tappet version also so check that out.

If you want to be simpler, do a Comp Cams Nitrous HP cam like me Hydraulic Flat Tappet with a 113 Lobe sep...They have 4 or 5 hey offer The lift isn't insane but it's not bad for a non-roller..And NO, they don't run ba when the nitrous isn't being used

Example, I chose the 274 version.. it's a 230/244 duration .520/.540 lift 113 lobe sep...Rated at 2500-6500 RPM I believe.

Another option I considered were their Marine HP Camshafts in the Flat tappet versions..Most are split pattern just like the Nitrous camshafts.

Goodluck!

your best bet would be to call comp cams, or any cam company and tell them everything about your car and have them build one to match you application, it will only be like an extra 50 bucks and youll get a hell of alot more performance compared to buying one right off the shelf
